Academic Overview

The academic programmes at the Asarfi Institute of Legal Education are designed as per the Bar Council of India (BCI) guidelines, focusing on strong conceptual understanding of law along with practical exposure through moot courts, internships, drafting work and interaction with legal professionals.

Both LL.B (3 Years) and BBA LL.B (5 Years) emphasize academic excellence, discipline, research-based learning and holistic development of future legal professionals.

Programme Structure

LL.B (3 Years) follows a 6-semester structure, while BBA LL.B (5 Years) includes 10 semesters integrating law with humanities subjects. Both programmes include core law papers, skill-based components, drafting, internships and moot court activities.

Curriculum & Syllabus

Curriculum includes core legal subjects, procedural laws, constitutional studies, criminal law, contract law, research methodology and other courses prescribed by BCI. Integrated BBA LL.B adds humanities and foundational subjects.

Teaching Methodology

Learning is delivered through lectures, discussions, case studies, moot court exercises, presentations, research work and practical training guided by experienced faculty and legal practitioners.

Moot Court & Practical Training

Moot Court is a mandatory part of both programmes. Students receive detailed training through the Moot Court Society, interact with practising advocates and participate in national-level competitions.

Internships

Internships are compulsory. Students engage with advocates, courts, legal firms and NGOs. BBA LL.B students undergo multiple internships throughout their programme as per institutional guidelines.

Evaluation System

Evaluation is based on internal assessments, assignments, presentations, viva-voce, project work and end-semester examinations conducted by the University.

Rules & Academic Conduct

Students must follow institutional guidelines, maintain discipline, observe academic integrity and comply with all academic and conduct-related rules prescribed by the Institute and University.

Academic Aid Cell

The institute provides academic guidance, doubt-clearing support, remedial assistance, exam preparation help and faculty mentoring to ensure effective learning and academic improvement.
